Amerway #750 Halide Free OA Flux Technical Data Bulletin
Technical Data Sheet
| Description: |
| Amerway 750 flux is a halide free, organic activated water soluble flux for wave
soldering. This flux is free of chloride, fluoride and bromide. Amerway #750 also
reduces or eliminates effluent treatment and provides complete cleaning in water to low
ionic levels while leaving a surface which has high surface insulation resistance (SIR). |
| Application: |
|
| Amerway 750 can be applied by foam, dip, wave or spray fluxing equipment. The best
results can be obtained by using the following guidelines: |
| |
1. Keep foam-head, wave height, or pot level consistent through appropriate
adjustments. Replace flux daily if self-contained storage is not available;
otherwise, replace after forty hours of operation. |
| |
2. Adjust specific gravity to the nominal level plus or minus 0.005 with Amerway
750 Flux Thinner. |
| |
3. Add fresh flux to maintain the appropriate flux level. |
| |
4. Clean fluxing equipment regularly to remove debris, trapped oil or water.
When foam fluxing, clean foaming stone in the proper Amerway 750 Flux
Thinner whenever the flux is changed or as needed. |
| |
5. If spray fluxer is used, spray fluxing equipment may be cleaned with water,
then followed by a rinse with Amerway 750 Flux Thinner. |
| |
6. Wave fluxing equipment may also be cleaned with water and rinsed with
Amerway 750 Flux Thinner. |
| Uses: |
Amerway 750 halide free organic acid flux provides excellent solder wetting on Nickel,
Kovar, Alloy 42 and Copper surfaces. This unique blend of activators make it deal for
use in wave and drag soldering operations or for component lead and frame tinning.
Amerway 750 flux is mildly active, contains no glycol, and the easy cleaning eliminates
the cost, worker safety, and environmental concerns of solvent cleaning or water
treatment for halides. |
| Residue Consideration: |
| Amerway 750 flux residues are removed by hot water between 140-160 deg F to a high
cleanliness requirement. Water quality has the largest impact when water washing. Care
must be taken when utilizing wetting agents or neutralizers when needed for cleaning. |
| Benefits: |
|
| |
1. Halide, fluoride and bromide free. |
| |
2. Glycol free. |
| |
3. Mild activity level. |
| |
4. Reduces or eliminates effluent treatment of wash water. |
| |
5. Cleans to a low ionic contamination level. |
| |
6. Non-corrosive to soldering equipment. |
