| Description: |
| Amerway 700 is an organic acid water soluble flux with a broad preheat temperature
range. This flux has a high activity level for wave soldering and cleans completely with
water or a combination of water and detergent. The Amerway 700 has excellent solder
wetting characteristics on a variety of metal surfaces. |
| Application: |
|
| Amerway 700 Flux can be applied by foam, wave, dip or spray fluxing application. The
flux reservoir tanks should be made of plastic or titanium. A very stable foam-head is
provided in a typical foaming system. Best results can be obtained by the following
guidelines. |

-Keep foam-head, wave height or pot level consistent through appropriate
adjustments. Replace flux daily if self-contained storage is not available;
otherwise, replace after every forty hours of operation. |

-Adjust the specific gravity to the nominal level with a hydrometer. Evaporated
solvents should be replaced by the addition of Amerway 700 Flux Thinner. |

-Add fresh flux to maintain the appropriate level. |
| |
-Clean fluxing equipment regularly to remove debris, trapped oil or water. When
foam fluxing, clean the foaming stone in D.I. water first, then in the Amerway
700 Flux Thinner. |

The Amerway 700 Organic Acid Water Soluble Flux has excellent wetting characteristics
on a wide range of metallic surfaces which will reduce icicling and bridging problems.
Its’ wetting and penetrating ability leave shiny connections even on heavily oxidized
copper, brass, and tin-nickel surfaces. The low smoking, low fuming, stable nature, and
water cleanability provide cost savings, enhanced process control, and a safer work

| Residue Consideration: |
| As with any organic acid type flux, printed circuit boards should be thoroughly cleaned
as soon as possible to prevent the possibility of corrosion and electromigration problems.
Delays can also cause solder joint discoloration. In-line washers are recommended when
using Amerway 700 flux. When a batch washer is used, a pre-soak is recommended with
a wash-aid, such as Amerway 900 Enviro-Clean-25 to minimize washing difficulties
while a batch of boards is being accumulated. Amerway 700 cleans effectively in water
with a minimum temperature of 120 F or higher. Water quality is the largest
consideration in water wash systems and care must be taken to utilize wetting
agent/detergents where needed or proper cleaning will not occur. |

| Amerway 700 Water Soluble Organic Acid Flux is available in one gallon containers,
five gallon pails, and fifty five gallon drums. |
| Safety and Precautions: |
| Flammable liquids should be stored in a dry, well ventilated place away from open
flames, sparks, or direct heat. As with all Amerway fluxes, a Material Safety Data Sheet
is available. |
